Project overview

 
Covid-19 has affected everyone's lives in ways we never could have imagined and small businesses have been some of the hardest hit. As they struggle to keep their doors open Instagram has quickly pivoted to support small businesses by providing the ability to donate, buy gift cards and order directly from small businesses.
As a part of these initiatives to support small businesses, the Creative Department partnered with Instagram Comms and Time Out New York on a pilot virtual event. This event was hosted on IG Live for local creatives, businesses, and other professionals by offering a unique experience of education, entertainment and inspiration.

Our approach

 
We created a branded instagram stories graphics package for our media partners and for each small businesses to promote the event via their instagram accounts which consisted of a teaser leveraging the Instagram countdown sticker, a title and schedule card, and an SMB highlight graphic that contained specific details about each session.
Our assets were key in demonstrating a unified partnership between Instagram and Time Out NYC and were shared by our partners the small businesses involved.

The results

 
33 local NYC small businesses participated in the festival over a 2 day period. The event drew over 40k viewers on Instagram LIVE and has continued on as a series in other major cities across the U.S.
