Project background

Over the past 10 years there have been many product updates, re-designs, and new features that have kept Instagram a fun, creative and inclusive community. This year for their 10th birthday, Instagram’s product comms team wanted to highlight some of the most memorable product moments from the past 10 years.

We partnered with the web team to create a visual timeline page on the Instagram website that brought these moments to life.

In addition to the webpage, we created fun social graphics to drive traffic the website.

Takeaways

What had originally come in as a request for a PDF timeline was transformed into an interactive webpage featuring a mix of still, animated gif and video assets celebrating product moments over the past 10 years. This combined with the social graphics resulted in a great way to create excitement and direct users to Instagram’s website.

This project not only provided us with the opportunity to pitch larger scope creative solutions but also partner with new teams within the Instagram org and create new working relationships.
